Another Sandbar Baby

Here's another Sandbar T-shirt picture, but this one is a little different than the ones we usually get from customers!

Occasionally we get a request for a Sandbar onesie or kids T-shirt. If we have time, we'll print something for the lucky parent.

Lisa was a regular in the bar for a number of years and a friend of bartender Danny's, so he wanted to give her a Sandbar onesie when she had a baby:

According to Catherine's mama, "she only has 20 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, and and 3 more days till she is officially allowed in there…but who's counting??" We can't wait to meet her someday!

Tips from Team Cocktail

Several months ago, we introduced our friends at Team Cocktail and they wrote a guest post about their company. They also graciously provided some tips for our fans about tropical drinks, islands and bars- in case you feel like traveling! Lyndsey wrote this several months ago, so we'll check back in with them to see if these are still Team Cocktail favorites, or if they've discovered new favorites.

Favorite Tropical Drink: It's so hard for us to choose just one because our motto is: Travel Global, Drink Local. So wherever we are, we drink the local beverage of choice, and we love that. But if we had to pick just one…it would probably be the Painkiller from The Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, a British Virgin Island. It's one of those tropical drinks that has a tendency to sneak up on you after only a couple. It's a delicious mix of rum (lots of it), coconut creme, juices and fresh nutmeg.

Favorite Tropical Island/Bar: Well obviously we love the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke from our answer above. Jost Van Dyke is a secluded island that is untouched by commercial development.  Remember Kenny Chesney's song "Somewhere in the Sun," well this is the island he is singing about. Picture perfect white sand, turquoise blue waters, friendly people and a few beach bar/shacks along the beach not a hotel or resort in sight.

A few other favorites are Bikini Beach Bar on Orient Beach in St. Martin, The Boatyard on Barbados and Reggae Beach Bar on St. Kitts. We could list so many more but these top the list!

Where has Team Cocktail traveled, what places are up next?  Wow, I don't know that you would even want to read about all of the places we have traveled, nor do I think I could list them all.  But let's just say that between all four founders we have been to almost every Caribbean island, Maui, the Mediterranean, the UK, Europe and around the U.S.

You'll be able to read about our upcoming adventures as well as our past travels at http://blog.teamcocktail.com/.

It's probably no surprise that those of us at the Sandbar are jealous of Team Cocktail's travels to tropical locales! If we're ever able to get away from the bar for a tropical vacation, we'll definitely give them a call for tips on where to go and what to drink.

Sandbar Tee at the Kenny Chesney Concert

Our friends at Team Cocktail sent us this picture of a Sandbar shirt. They spotted a Sandbar fan wearing his shirt at the Team Cocktail tailgate party before the Kenny Chesney concert at Arrowhead.

Thanks, Team Cocktail! We've got another guest blog from them coming up in the near future with tips about the best tropical islands and drinks.

Sandbar Tee at Yellowstone

Sandbar friends Phil and Bailey wore their Sandbar shirts on vacation last month. Here's a nice change from the flood of shirt pictures from tropical locations, which were beautiful but making us insanely jealous of vacationers.

Last month, my boyfriend Phil and I went on a camping road trip in South Dakota and Wyoming. We camped and explored for eight days in the Black Hills National Forest, Custer State Park, Buffalo Bill State Park, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. I already had a Sandbar shirt but seeing as we would have lots of photo opps, I made sure to purchase and take an extra t-shirt for Phil.

We decided to wear our shirts on our first full day in Yellowstone; we had lots of exploring to do and a hike planned. At one overlook we stopped at, a fellow tourist offered to take our picture. "Make sure you get the t-shirts in the frame," said Phil, "we are wearing them for a reason". That reason, of course, was to be featured on the (world?) famous Sandbar blog. If you're planning a trip to the area (and you should be!), let us know! We'll be happy to share our favorite spots!

Sandbar Tee in the British Virgin Islands

We love getting pictures of our Sandbar shirts all over the world! The latest batch of pictures come from Michael and LeAna, regular customers once upon a time who have since moved to Texas but still keep up with the Sandbar.

Hello, Dave and fellow Parrotheads! Here are four photographs of LeAna and I, in my ultra-cool Sandbar tee, in the British Virgin Islands. We spent the week on St. Thomas, St. John, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Marina Cay to celebrate our tenth anniversary.

And finally, LeAna and I at Cathedral Room in The Baths National Park, Virgin Gorda, B.V.I.

We had a wonderful, memorable time, of course, and thought of all of our friends at The Sandbar everywhere we went – Charlotte Amalie, Red Hook, Magen’s Bay, Coki Beach, etc. Lawrence is very lucky to have The Sandbar, we have come to learn. It is the true embodiment of the island experience – and you don’t even have to leave northeast Kansas! Wish you were in Texas, though…  There are plenty of Parrotheads down here that would absolutely love The Sandbar.

Takecare, hoist a glass for us, dance on the bar (safely) and we will see you soon…changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes.

Thanks, Michael and LeAna!

Sandbar Tee at the Golden Gate Bridge

Andrew Baker, our favorite sports reporter, can be seen on the local Channel 6 news talking about sports and participating in sports challenges. One night, we even caught him on the air wearing Sandbar shutter shades!

He also recently wore his Sandbar shirt at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and sent us this picture:

Where has your Sandbar shirt been lately? Send us a picture!
