Sandbar Tee Spotted at the Royal Gorge Bridge

Sandbar friend Erin posted this on Twitter this past weekend:

I spy an @thesandbar shirt at the Royal Gorge Bridge!

Of course we responded to ask if she took a picture. We assumed that someone she was with was wearing one of our shirts. But, no:

I was too afraid to ask [for a picture] but he did give me an out of breath #rockchalk!

We love this story! What a surprise that one of our customers ran into someone else wearing a Sandbar shirt outside of Kansas.

Sandbar Tee in Cancun

The Sandbar-around-the-world pictures tend to come in batches. We don't see any new ones for months, and then all of a sudden we get them from five different people.

Lately, the pictures have been mostly from warm, tropical destinations, which has us itching for a vacation.

The most recent pictures are from my brother, Mike, and his new wife Mandi. I forgot to give them new Sandbar shirts before they went on their honeymoon to Cancun, so they grabbed a couple of Mike's old shirts to take along for photo opps.

The top photo is pretty fuzzy, but I liked the background. Mike & Mandi visited Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville on their excursion outside the resort. We're proud of them for remembering to take Sandbar shirts on their honeymoon! Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Sandbar Tee in Waikiki

Sandbar friend Donna traveled to Hawaii— Waikiki, to be specific— and of course she took a Sandbar shirt with her.

Donna told us that she's moving to South Africa in a few months, so we're hoping to get more great pictures from her!

A secret that Donna told us: she's the mystery woman in this picture with bartender Phil, from their college days at Kansas State University. We're impressed, Phil!

Sandbar Tee in St. Croix

Sandbar friends Nate & Sam traveled to a tropical locale a few weeks ago, and they took Sandbar shirts with them. Anyone who goes somewhere tropical should have Sandbar shirts with them, so they can take pictures and taunt us with them, since the only beach we get to see is upstairs.

Here they are, posing in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, a place we desperately want to visit.

You can learn more about Nate and Sam on their blog. Thanks for the great picture, and we hope you enjoyed your trip!

Sandbar Tee at New Orleans Jazz Fest

Our good friends Tony and Pam moved away from Lawrence last year, and we were thrilled to get an email from them recently.

They went to the New Orleans Jazz Fest with their friends Scott and Valarie, where our idol Jimmy Buffett was the headliner, and according to Tony, the group "proudly sported their Sandbar official club members uniform!"

Here's a couple other pictures Tony sent us:

Thanks, guys, we miss you in Lawrence!

Sandbar Tee in the Bahamas

Long-time regular customer Molly recently went to the Bahamas (we're really jealous) and took her Sandbar shirt along for the obligatory photo opp.

Sandbar
Here's her story:

I had been planning on this trip since January, I went to get my passport for it and everything! My cousin Tyler and his fiance Annie planned a destination wedding for April 30, 2011 and I was so happy to be able to go! I went down the Thursday before with members of my extended family and we all made a vacation out of it. (How could we not, it was The Bahamas!)

One week before we were scheduled to fly out, I, being the obvious animated klutz that I am, tripped and broke the first bone to ever be broken in my body, my right wrist. I decided when getting my cast to 1. splurge and get the waterproof version (for obvious reasons – the pool) and 2. get the brightest color I could, no point in getting down while in such a tropical place! So I went with bright yellow - cast was hidden in many of the trip pictures – especially the wedding photos. 🙂

It didn't get in the way of my fun though, we got to visit Atlantis, walk through street markets they call "Straw Markets," ride around Paradise Island on a glass bottom boat, and lounge on the white sand beaches! The wedding was Saturday at sunset, right on the beach and was perfect! Tyler and Annie are so happy, and we were all so happy we got to be a part of their special day, while at the same time having a vacation with our family that was amazing!

My Sandbar picture was taken at the gazebo where we had the rehersal dinner at our hotel, right behind me is the beach that we played on all weekend! Thanks for letting me share my fun trip with you!

Here's a couple more pictures of the Bahamas that Molly sent us, so you can be jealous too:
