I should have posted this last night so you would have known about it for today, but at least it's still the beginning of the month.
During the month of February, to celebrate the grand opening of the Sandbar Sub Shop in Ottawa, every Thursday night is Dinner-and-a-Movie night!
All you have to do is stop by either the original Sandbar in Ottawa, or the new Sandbar Subs, on Thursdays during February and enjoy some great food. For each order that is $10 or more, you'll receive a free movie ticket for that night's show at the Crystal Plaza Movie Theater, also located in downtown Ottawa.
It's a great deal, considering you could pay $10 for just a movie ticket in some places. I did last summer, and the movie wasn't even that great. This way, you get a full meal out of it too!
Let's schedule a road trip from Sandbar Lawrence down to Ottawa- we'll head down in the early evening, grab some dinner at the Sub Shop, play arcade games, and then head over to The Sandbar for adult beverages. If you're interested in tagging along, leave us a comment. We'll set something up.

Here's a great little article about the recently opened Sandbar Sub Shop, from the Ottawa Herald.
From what we hear, the shop has been super busy ever since it opened. This article says they served more than 400 meals in the first week alone; that's pretty good for a brand new place in a small town.
If you haven't been to visit, you should. Grab your friends and plan a road trip. You can hit the sub shop for some food, smoothies, and arcade games, and then drive a little farther south to the Sandbar #2 for some adult beverages and a hurricane.

The Sandbar is excited to announce the latest venture dreamed up by our fearless leader, Peach- the brand-new Sandbar Subs restaurant that opened this month in Ottawa.
The new place is located at 127 South Main in downtown Ottawa. It's a two-story building with the restaurant on the main floor and room full of arcade games upstairs.
Sandbar Subs is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It's closed on Sundays. The menu features all sorts of great sandwiches- my favorite is the "Luau," a hot ham and swiss with a pineapple and barbecue sauce- with even greater names. You'll find the "Turkey and Seaweed," the "Hummus Hammerhead," the "Cyclone," and "Jimmy the Sailor."
The restaurant also has giant salads, smoothies, ice cream, and side items like chips and soup. The prices are all in the $5 range. Every day features a different footlong sandwich on special for $5. And, there' s a talking tiki head! Not even the original Sandbar in Lawrence has a talking tiki head!
